That is very true, and when he does ask i help him the best i can. But he does try and that is what you need determination when growing these plants as they are more challenging as we all know.

I think this is where he struggles as he is dyslexic so not being able to read won't help. I quite often have knocks at the door asking me what this plant is and if it can be kept outside all year...

Musa Basjoo are root hardy to at least minus 15c (5 Fahrenheit) so digging up won't be needed unless you get arctic condition's every winter. You will lose the Pseudostem at anything lower than 5...

I am glad that was a big help. The roller is the leaf in the middle that is not opened up yet. We call it a roller here in the UK as the leaf is rolled up before it opens out fully. :)
