You have a rojo red or commonly called blood banana right there. They grow very fast I live in Nebraska and mine grew 5 ft in the summer and 2ft under grow lights in the winter.

I would use it when it starts blooming.it would only act as fertilizer if the banana hasn't completed it's leaf formation yet.
