Re: Simple and Effective, but not Elegant.

I tried a similar thing a few years ago to grow pumpkins, except I used comfrey leaves and horse manure instead of grass. I...

Re: Hello from Bulgaria

Hi Miroslavpetkov,
Fish and bananas are a great combination.
The leaves are also good to wrap fish in for barbecuing or baking in a fire pit.
Happy growing.

Re: Green House Question.

If you decide to build a rigid greenhouse with square sections, you could use twin or triple wall polycarbonate, although it can be relatively expensive to buy.
If you're making a polytunnel similar...

Re: Green House Question.

I don't know about the difference in temperature but it looks good for the price. At least it'll provide protection from some frost, excess rain and cooling/drying wind.
As it's plastic rather than...

Re: Anyone use heating cables?

I've thought about this in the past and as I only have a small outside area, the initial capital outlay wouldn't be too great in my case. As well as the cables and thermostat you'd need a suitable...

Hi,
Muggy hot days from May till late October sounds great to me. A banana in good soil can put on an awful lot of growth during five months in those conditions. Happy growing!
