Can someone confirm this is a Manzano bloom?

I've got (what I believe to be) a manzano blooming. Can someone who has this variety confirm that this matches their blooms? Thanks in advance.

Re: Name this banana?

Thank you. Given the maturity of the mat at this point, I'd be surprised not to see a bloom soon. I'll post a pic when I have one.

Name this banana?

I got this banana plant from an old neighbor about two years ago ( thread was banana plant no roots), but have yet to see it flower, nor did he have a name for it.

As you can see, from 1 plant with...

Re: Manzano flowering in Phoenix!

I don't have an exact measurement, but I would guess it's a bit over nine feet to the flower. That's based on the 10-foot wall I can see behind it, it's a bit shorter than that.

Re: Manzano flowering in Phoenix!

I acquired it as an apple sized corm, with no roots or above ground growth two summers ago (this will be the third summer). It is pretty established now though, and has three large psudo stems, and...

Re: just tried to grow my first pup= Failure

You're in Arizona? Bananas grow well in Arizona, but struggle to build roots in the dry soil, as well as to acclimate to the intensity of our sunshine. I start everything first in a pot where I can...

Re: Thinking of Ice Cream Banana

I have one in Phoenix, and of all my bananas, only the blue java and the dwarf red lost leaves this winter.

Re: Mites in my banana plants

I was going to say near the exactly the same thing. I've had mites indoors in potted bananas, but they disappear when moving them outdoors. I rotate potied ones outdoors periodically just for this...

Re: Large banana plants no roots - any advise?

So last post on this topic, I must have reached a critical mass of some type with these two plants, as I've got pups everywhere from both.

Would you cut this out?

Hi guys, we had a lot of rain the last two weeks, & I noticed that one of my plants has picked up a soft spot.

Would you cut this out? Or let the plant try to resolve it on its own?

I usually cut...

Re: Large banana plants no roots - any advise?

Just closing the loop on this, the second one, that had the least amount of corn, just produced its first pup last month. So about 10 months from no roots and approximately an inch of corn, to pup....

Re: Thank you Crazy Banana!

So, quick update. The hot part of the summer is over, and I'm happy to report things are going well. We had a big wind and rain storm last week, that even brought a little hale with it, and shredded...

Re: Thank you Crazy Banana!

So a quick update on the Java, even with two layers of shade cloth, the original leaves from before the transplant burned like crazy. They just weren't ready for Phoenix sun; I was hoping the larger...

Re: Banana Heat Tolerance

Revising my previous view, the basjoo does seem to struggle / slow down growth more in full sun over 115F than others. That said though, I don't remove leaves, and it was 118F here yesterday, and...

Re: Banana Heat Tolerance

I'm in Phoenix, and will say that as long as they have water, heat doesn't seem to be an issue. I'm in exactly the situation described above, 110+, and single digit humidity. After the first summer...
