HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hope everyone had a great night last night. I watched Glass Tiger play in Victoria Park and brought in the new year with some fireworks and good music. Went to Mandarin for an amazing dinner earlier in the evening. Hope everyone had a good time. What did you do?

Great Bonsai plant, Jordan. Thanks for the pics. Have you shaped it yet? Hope you're enjoying your new PS3. So cool that you have one!

Cam, how was your New Year's eve? How about you, Tommy?

I'm just hanging out, downloading some shows I bought for my iPad.

I ran out of spring water, so my dad is getting some more tomorrow. Once I get the new, clean, water I will cut off the overgrown parts of the pre-bonsai and take off all the unwanted dead parts. I am going to try cuttings off the overgrown branches.

I only water my plants with pure spring water.

I am probably going to go back to the store I got it from and buy some adeniums that they had.

They also had some pachypodium lamerii that where atleast a meter or more tall! Oh yes did I want to take them home. But they where a bit big for me

I might let my fukein tea go a while before getting it a bonsai pot. To make sure it does well for me.

Would anyone be interested in seeds off of it if I can get it pollinated?

I love the PS3! It has so much to do on it. It's a lot cooler then other game systems I have seen. And the graphics are awesome!

Happy new years everyone Lets hope we don't all blow up like the Mayans say we are And lets hope everyone's goals for the new year come true, sure do hope mine does.

I had to throw out the fukein tea :'( It had snails, some weird white things, and had apparently had some weird white powdery mold like stuff and that spread all over it from being in my bathroom.

I am not buying anything from local stores anymore. No one knows how to care for anything and everything is sick once I get it.

I will just have to stick with online, PROFESSIONAL, dealers of plants.

Hiya Re: Insomnia Thread...

Early day tomorrow...gotta catch some Zzzzzzzzz's. Hope everyone's doing well.

Sorry you had to chuck your new plant, Jordan. That's why I grow from seed mostly because a lot of nursery plants are disappointing and inferior. I will only buy store-bought plants if they're super healthy and actively growing.

Doing some stuff on my iPad right now. G'night gang. Chat soon...

My sago palm I was trying to rescue from walmart also died. It wouldn't root after having its roots cut off from rot. Gosh, this makes me hate local stores even more. Maybe I should move to California or Florida where all the online growers are

I think I am going to order some sago palm and Operculicarya decaryi seeds tomorrow or soon.

I like to either get my plants from seed, or trades with other growers online

Hi everyone. I hope everyone had a great New Year's. I have been playing Skyrim, its a really good game. Jordan I'm sorry to hear about your tea tree. It was a really beautiful plant. I've brought home a few plants from Lowe's that had either scale bugs or mealybugs. A few years ago I lost several plants to mealybugs. I couldn't kill them so they spread to most of my plants

Hey Jordan, I don't know if you want a very small one, but if you do then I have a sago palm for you. They are not my favorite plant, too stiff looking and they stick you. PM me your address and I'll send it to you if you want it.

Thanks Sent you a pm I got this weird email today, the topic was "nice present" And all it had in the body of it was a link to a untrustworthy viagra dealer that scams people.... So I deleted the email and ran a very thorough virus scan from a linux rescue disk and nothing was found. I also changed all of my password using a different computer. I don't open suspicious emails like this one, but my charter email opened it once the email loaded so it was open once my email loaded..... Friday I am probably going to order my sago palm and O.B. seeds mentioned above Hope everyone is having a nice day

Smile Re: Insomnia Thread...

Sorry about your Sago Palm, Jordan! Sucks!

Glad to hear everyone had a good new year. Me too.

Janan should be back soon. Are ya home yet, girl?

I was just watching some shows on my iPad. I can't seem to get away from that thing! It's aways with me everywhere I go...except the bathroom!

So what is everyone up to...playing with all your new toys from Christmas?

It's technically still Christmas for me and in fact these are the 12 days of Christmas right now, from Christmas day to the Epiphany on January 6th. I've still got my Christmas lights on. Just glad the turkey is finally gone! I told my mom that we're getting a way smaller bird next year. That one was huge!

So who's around then?

Hi Sherry and Jordan. I took down the tree on Saturday. I'm glad that Christmas is over with. Sometimes I dread the holidays.

Talking Re: Insomnia Thread...

Hi Cam and Jordan! Sorry about that...I got busy momentarily.

So how've you guys been? Hope things are well.

Who was it that said they didn't have any blooming plants right now but they wanted one...was that you Jordan? Wondered if you ended up getting one? I'm going to visit an expensive greenhouse tomorrow, but they usually have good quality plants. I'll see if I can find something cool.

So how are all the video games going? Even Tom's addicted!

My mom is too but she's sick right now. Yesterday she came down with flu-like symptoms. Think she's going to the doctor tomorrow. Yuck, I'm glad I'm not sick. Haven't been for years.

Maybe if you find something we could work out a trade in the spring I was planning on getting you something anyways, could always add to it
Don't be spending you money on me though, make sure to get yourself something first

Still love my new video games, just beat one of them.

My mom also has flu-like symptoms, I wonder whats going on?

Yup still addicted to the video games. Right now I'm playing Minecraft. I made a server that my son, my wife and I can all play on. It is actually hosted on my web server so it is accessable by anyone. If any of you want to join, let me know and I'll provide the info.

It would be funny to have our own virtual gardens. It would be loads of fun if they would make a larger variety of plants available in game.

Hiya Re: Insomnia Thread...

Hey!

I didn't make it to that greenhouse yet but I will by the weekend...maybe even tomorrow. My mom's real sick right now. Bla!

No worries Jordan...by spring you'll have too much to grow! Now that the holidays are coming to an end, I'm going to send those bulbs to you guys next. I've had them packed for awhile now.

Hope everyone's having a great Thursday so far. I'm making spaghetti.

Man that sounds good too, Cam! I love rice with meat and veggies.

I was just loading some shots while I get the pasta cooked. Not sure what to do with the rest of the night but I may have company drop in later on.

I also got a seed catalogue in the mail today from one of my favorite places...J.L. Hudson in California. Gonna have a browse through and place an order. I noticed they're offering Maypops passiflora this year, along with some others I'm gonna get.
