20 years ago today not only did my wife and I survive the Northridge Quake but my best friend Manny did too. He lived in a beach bungalow near the Santa Monica pier. When the shaking started he jumped out of bed and into the closet door frame which is the on the left in the photo. The 3 story brick and mortar building with 300 pound ornamental stones around the roof line next door to him collapsed sending 4 feet of bricks and stones through his roof and onto his bed. He survived and was later interviewed by the Lamestream media. I went over to help recover his belongings. What a lucky son of a gun to make it out alive!

Thanks for sharing your story. I suppose that sometimes I forget how devastating earthquakes can be, as they are a rare occurence where I am located.
