Default Windmill Palm Flowering First Time, help

Hello all,
One if my Windmill Palms Is starting to flower, I think that's what you call it. I'm excited! This a first for me. It has 5 or 6 pods coming out. One of them looks bad, like bugs or something got to it. Is there something I need to do? Spray mabe? We had a very mild winter here in Georgia, I wonder if that helped it along. Thank for your help.

The third picture looks like bugs have gotten to it. It has turned brown. Just doesn't look that good.

Spray a mixture of mostly water and a little bit of neem oil and mild soap to the areas affected by bugs in the early evening hours and that should do the trick. Its natural and non-toxic.
But other than that, doesnt seem like you need any "help" to me! Getting a trachy to flower is a nice mildstone, congrats! The mild winter probably did help make that happen, but it also seems like it was just mature enough to flower now. Im not too good at determining this, but it looks female to me. If thats true, then you can have some seeds if a male tree is nearby to pollinate it!

If you see ants on the palm and especially around the suspected pests (aphids, scale, etc.), the ants are tending the other guys. Control ants and you control the sucking insects. I used to ring the base of the palm with a chemical insecticide because I often couldn't reach the scale. Now that I think about it, the scale and aphids attacked the emerging leaves not the flowers and fruits.

Congrats on your success with the T. fortunei!
