Pakistan, two white mulberries, illinois every bearing, and an unknown.
White may be less bothered by birds.

Here's an article about Mulberries from the Bangkok Post that I happened to read a few weeks ago. Some of it pertains to local sources, but most of it should be of interest. A luscious-looking remedy | Bangkok Post: lifestyle

We have had mulberry trees for the last 30 years. Our best is a Romanian black mulberry tree bought from edible landscaping. Many people find white mulberries insipid, but the best mulberries that I ever tasted were white mulberries growing outside the Bourbon crypt in Slovenia. I'd love to get one of this unbelievably sweet variety.

It could be just a form of the native red mulberry
see below from wikipedia
Quote:
Morus rubra .... the Red Mulberry, is a ... native to eastern North America. Ranges frp, Ontario and Vermont to southern Florida, and west to southeast South Dakota and central Texas.

...... listed as an endangered species in Canada and succeptible to hybridization with the Asian invasive White Mulberry (M. alba),

Am I growing mulberry if I'm really just complaining about the damnable thing crapping its berries all over my deck all summer?

Why plant it near your house if that is your thinking?

It came with the house, thing is like 30 feet high and nearly as wide. I keep cutting it back but it keeps spreading out to shadow more of the deck. Too much more of this and the whole thing is going to get the chainsaw.

I'll say this much, though; the thing is virulent. I am constantly pulling seedlings out of all my potted plants on the deck all summer and through the winter when they come inside.

The roots of mulberry trees can also cause problems because they send lateral shallow large diameter roots a considerable distance. They have been known to break sidewalks and some other structures.
