Beautiful plant...

How is the sand in your area....?

Do you amend your soils for those plants?

I live in S.M Florida when I move here it was sand and shells. I covered all the area in mulch layer after layer. That turned it in to the soil I need it had taken a few years of mulching.John

Cold Re: What is blooming in your garden today (other plants)?

Today i found Galanthus nivalis in my garden.
Beutiful sight though its not season for it (yet).
Must been triggered by the mild weather here where i live.
i was supposed to take a nice picture of it when i came back home but a layer of snow had covered it up.
I cant wait and long enough for springtime and start tend my Musa acuminata i got as a gift from my children.

Labeled as Colocasia Gigantea:

Larger plant on right:

I bought it from Brian's Botanicals, maybe, 15 years ago. It does not have a growth habit typical of Colocasia Gigantea because it only grows large under very low light conditions. In full sunlight it stays small. Last Spring, I put the larger plant under bushes and never watered it with the intention of killing it. It grew better than ever, so I kept it. Both plants bloom often and the flowers look like those of Colocasia Gigantea but I don't know what it really is.

BTW, see the two window boxes of impatiens. For decades, I kept them outside and replanted them in the Spring. Two years ago, I got the bright idea to take them inside the greenhouse. The impatiens are quite large before I bring them in so I prune them down to 2".

You are right. I bought it such a long time ago that I must be confused. Maybe, it's Alocasia Borneo Giant. I'm sure it had something big in its name.
