vanilla planifolia
do any of yall know where i can get one of these( vanilla vine) for my mother? she wants to grow them for the bean. its a vanilla vine that can grow up to 50 ft. in a few years. she wants one that is about a year old. any good websites i can send her to would be appriciated.

you can find orchid plant sources on www.orchidmall.com/plants.htm, i have gotten a lot o f my orchids from Oak Hill (www.oakhillgardens.com/). keep in mind they will only bloom once the reach a certain size and are gravity sensitive - they only bloom once large enough to have the growing ends hanging down.

you're welcome! i had one for years in my greenhouse that cover the south wall. originally it was in a 6" pot and climbed onto the frame of the greenhouse. i eventually cut it away from the pot and just watered the wall.

just watered the wall... thats funny. apparently my mother doesnt know how to use the internet to look for stuff unless it has to do with a violin or a flute.. so i thank you very much. maybe after the first of the year i might get one for myself!
