Re: A thread for hot pepper-a-holics...
The colors are starting already, even though the plant is just beginning to set it's fruit. Notice in the 2nd shot, one of the peppers is bright purple and one is mauvey/violet? They even go through a white stage too! They're just the absolute best and I grow them every year. The fruits are super hot and surprisingly flavorful also. I'd have to say it's my all-time favorite type. You'll soon see why...

Re: A thread for hot pepper-a-holics...
Ok so here are three more "Explosive Amber" plants in one pot, but they're just getting started...
They're beginning to set fruits and will grow more full over the season. I'm ashamed to say these are my "Filius Blue" pepper plants in desperate need of fertilization, which they received today... There are actually 4 plants in one pot but I got the seeds later in the season and so they got neglected a bit because I was busy tending to all my other pepper varieties with fruits on them! Don't underestimate those 'filius blue' plants though...I'll have them looking great in no time. They're already setting buds and I can't wait to see the fruits because they're as close to actual blue as you can get (except for the ones my grandmother used to grow). Will show soon... : ) |

Re: A thread for hot pepper-a-holics...
As usual those are nice plants. I added some Epsom salts to my AG so I hope that helps my peppers out. I can't wait to see the peppers on the Filius Blue. So how big are the pots that you have them in?

Re: A thread for hot pepper-a-holics...
I've shamefully got the Filius Blue plants in a 3 and a 1/2 inch pot because I'm dwarfing them!
I didn't realize I was getting the seeds until I had already sown my indoor pepper crops and I didn't have a lot of room left in my south windows, which is where I wanted them to grow. Some pepper plants I just grew this year for seed though and once I collect them I'm giving the plants to my girlfriends. I will have more room in mid to late summer and I grow some of my best peppers in Autumn. Oh wait until you see what I will have. I'm even sowing more pepper seeds now to get ready for a late Autumn harvest! Ok these mystery fruits from Janan are super duper HOT I mean VERY hot! : ) |

Re: A thread for hot pepper-a-holics...
Not that I'd need the money (I could donate the proceeds to the little girl I sponsor in Africa) but if I grew many of my beautiful pepper varieties and set up a little table...they'd sell like crazy! I just know it. Especially these ones...
See the green one with orange stripes?! : ) |

That green with orange stripes is really cute! Is that the same plant that had the chocolate and purple stripe?

Re: A thread for hot pepper-a-holics...
Yup, I've been sponsoring her for over three years now, Cam. Through a reputable place though, where 100% of your money actually goes to the child!
Yes Janan, it's the same plant. Isn't it too cool?! It grows like an actual tree and the branches are horizontal!!! It totally reminds me of "purple tiger" in a huge way. I just absolutely love it and know people who would go nuts over it. : ) |

Re: A thread for hot pepper-a-holics...
Your fish will be very happy in your AG Cam. It will be putting out a leaf or two every day or every other day once it gets started.
Sherry can you use your macro and take some tight close ups of those striped peppers? I really like those a lot.

Re: A thread for hot pepper-a-holics...
Thank you very much! The top one almost looks like a teeny watermelon. They (the mystery peppers) have a rounded rectangle look to them don't they, or is it just how they photograph? Is there any other known peppers that have that shape?
Love those FISH! I keep checking mine every day for little buds.

Re: A thread for hot pepper-a-holics...
Yes Janan, the mystery peppers are block shaped, and rectangular! That's why they remind me of 'purple tiger' as well, because of the shape. I really am enjoying them and have seeds collected already.
