Hiya Passion Fruit

I've been getting tons of flowers from my Passiflora Edulis this spring, but not one fruit! The flowers last for a few days, fold back up, and dry up, and no fruit.

Does anyone else get this low yield problem with their passionflower? Any advice would be great.

There are several reasons for vines flowering but not setting fruit.

* Poor pollination. This is the main cause and can be due to bees not working the flowers (for example during heavy rain); temperatures being too low or too high for pollination (optimum temperatures for pollen germination are between 20°C and 35°C); or rain directly reducing the viability of the pollen (moisture causes the pollen grains to split).
* Boron deficiency.
* Extended periods of overcast weather. This may cause flower drop regardless of pollination problems.

Thanks sunfish.

The weather has been ideal throughout the flowering, and it has been sunny and bone dry. There has not been any rain for a month. I'm not sure about the Boron deficiency, but the plant looks healthy.

Pollination is probably the problem. There haven't been any bees on my passion flower ( At least I haven't seen any). Will hand pollination work, or does there have to be a second passion vine?

It says they are self fertile so try hand pollinating.
