I don't know of anything special I'm doing... soil is the same banana potting mix I used on my potted bananas (1/3 each of peat, compost, and pearlite) and I use a weak dose of miracle grow on them. I did watch youtube demonstrations on pollinating, but feels to me like I'd be molesting them. I bought a brush from the women's beauty section at WalMart to try brushing them. We'll see how that goes.

Tony, maybe you can help me ID this one. Had no label so I got it at a discount. Pics are rather crappy-sorry. Thanks!

Hey Howard - that looks like a "Lady Margaret" to me. I bought one last year, and it looked like two small plants. I guess I got overly ambitious and greedy and separated them in the heat of summer and then lost them both. Some day I'm going to get another one and again try to add this red and white beauty to my collection of mostly purple varieties! Ps I think the pics are great - good luck with her!

Here's a little picture of a wild P. Incarnata from last year. It grows wild here in KY and really covers one corner of our back fence each year.

I haven't got any fruit this year. Last year, by the end of summer, the vines were hanging full of fruit. I had picked up some of the fruits that had fallen and forgotten them on the porch. They fell into the flower beds and now, I have little vines coming up everywhere.

Incarnata grows like a weed here. I know of a stretch of railroad tracks that has it growing all alongside. I would be glad to trade seed.

Good. I'll send a P.M. when I'm done shoveling D.G. ad fixing the water heater.
