No these were just around the neighbor hood on a walk. The one she noticed is about 15 miles down the coast from where we live.

Which one is Brahea Edulis?

Ok, the first one should be easy to collect seeds because it's in my friends front yard just down the street!

When do they set seed ? Most palms down here have already set seed or are in bloom.

I'm going to look closer and see if there are any old seeds still up there. I'm sure they have mow and blow gardeners so finding seeds on the lawn will prove difficult. If there any old seeds still hanging I'll wait until right after a wind storm then check the ground.

I have a palm (that was sold to me from ebay in aug.) that the seller claims to be a cold hardy windmill fan palm. I never really thought about it till today, but this looks nothing like a windmill! I'm no palm expert and the leaves are stiff but damn sure don't fan. Can anyone tell me what it might be?

And i believe you may be right, Tony! Thank you!!
The dude had a pic of a windmill posted on the sale, and don't know why it didn't click when i opened the box, especially when i was thinking about buying a sago about the same time. Duh lol. It came from edspalms777 and even tho it's to late i'm tempted to cuss him out in an email. It makes me think which one of us is the bigger idiot in this case, like did he know up front? I'm guessing he did, so that would be me. lol... Oh well, u live and learn!

If he had more than one auction going he may have shipped both plants to the wrong buyers. I've done that myself when running multiple auctions.

Yup, its not a palm its a cycad, Cycas Revoluta, aka Sago palm . Not hardy as Windmill palm but can take some frost.

Just wanted to shed some light on my palm problem. I emailed the dude and held back on the cussing. lol I guess i'm part to blame for not catching it at the time. I know we all make mistakes and this is the second time it happened to me. The first time, i ordered some black mondo grass and didn't get the full order. I emailed the guy and he didn't believe me, but after looking into it he said he sent my order to someone else, who was very happy cause they got more then what they should have and i got less.. lol To make a long story short he made it right!...so it seems this palm guy also wants to make it right when i was ready to just write it off....awesome...Anyway it appears momoese was right and here's how it went.

Dear edspalms777,

I won a bid on what you claimed was a windmill palm on aug 06 11.
one 5ga Windmill Palm - Cold Hardy Palm Tree 3 to 4ft
Item# 260826996115 $22.50 USD 1 $22.50 USD +s&h
I didn't catch it at the the time but the fact of the matter is you sent me a sago palm. I know it's a little late to bitch, but i never gave the tree much thought till now. Don't get me wrong i like the sago (and i do know the difference) but its not what i bid on. I could of got a sago at lowes for a lot cheaper at the end of summer sale. Anyway, i assume u know the difference between the palms, so i was just wondering how/why did this happen? I'M not asking for anything cause i just forked out 40 more bucks for 2 of them, would just like for u to maybe shed some light on this.
Thank you,
Tray

Dear trayb211,

If I sent you the wrong item it was nothing more than a mistake on my part. I appologize for that I have many orders pocessing in one day and its was just human error. I will be listing more palms this spring, write to me I will gladly ship another when the weather is better. Ed

I told him, to be fair, since i have the sago he owes me nothing but if he will/can cut me a deal on a windmill i would be grateful and more than happy to pay for one. This is what he sent me but don't know yet if it includes shipping. Is this good??

I have windmills in all sizes would you lika a
5gallon container 4 ft at $59?
25 ga container 6 to 8ft at $145?
or 9 to 10ft at $250.00?
or larger?
these prices are at a 25% discount just for you!
