Default Germinating datura

What is the best method to germinate datura.I always get a few going but for the amount of seeds I plant I think there is a better way.Do I grow them on the surface,buried ,heat etc.I left seedpods on the plants outside last fall and Im curios if they will grow come spring also!!!Thanks

I grow daturas, too many seeds plus i don't like picking them cause of their frickly pods. I just let them drop their seeds in the own pots and they will sprout when the weather is warm. I have good healthy plants that way rather than growing it individually in small pots. Hope this help.
