This is probably another stupid question but is a coconut a seed-too grow a coconut tree? If not where is the seed and where can i get one? My friend has some kind of palm thats been growing for a few years now in his heated garage here in Illinois!

Re: Coconut? Or Seed?
This year they are hit here. Every garden store is full of them. Every palm is about 1.5m high with 2-3 leaves. Dont waste your time on germination couse U need warm, humidity and good knows how area for few months to start and if U decide so buy few cocos in first store and go for it. Or better if U have somebody in grocery markets let he look for U because nuts comes in bags and in almost every bag one or two allready starts to germ and than stores throwes them away in garbage because they arent for sale. Good tip ha?

Re: Coconut? Or Seed?
Just throw a coconut on the ground, water like crazy and wait like crazy and you will have a palm after a long, long time!

Re: Coconut? Or Seed?
It doesn't really matter. The root will find the gravity pull and it get upright when the time is ready.
