Since the basjoos I bought during the fall failed to over-winter indoors, I bought some new starts and I'm hoping they grow fast.

Did you get yours at the Fruit and Spice Park? I searched and that's the only place I see it. There isn't a wiki entry for it yet, you might want to start one. I see a Google book entry from Infu Musa, Volumes 1-9, describing SH-3697 as a high-yield Macqueno hybrid resistant to Black Sigatoka but susceptable to Foc Race 1 (whatever that is!). It also says that it's a banana suitable for niche markets in Australia as well as export.
