Default Container size

I was wondering if a 25 gallon container would be enough room to fruit a dwarf Musa ? I have some Musa that will grow tall but at the moment 25 galon containers are the best I can do.

Default Re: Container size

Hello Steve,

I usually harvest Dwarf Cevendish in a 60 lit./16 gal. pot/container, and so
100 lit./25 gal. is better for the purpose. Best is to plant in the ground, but in
France it will be rather impossible for overwintering.

Thanks Stan for the reply , I'll go with the 25 gallon containers . Sorry about the misleading handle but we are in Maryland now , a vote was taken and it was decided I should keep the Steve in France name as that is how people have known me for the past five years on the UKOasis board and since more than a few members here are also UKOasis people the name stuck.I'll put one or two Musa in the ground here but it is a rented house so I'm limited as to what I can do. I have a large Crawlspace to over Winter stuff and i hope that works.

Red face Re: Container size

Steve can you not get black plasic dustbins over there ? you may be able to cut one down to size and burn a few holes for drainage in the base.Or half barrels as you have lots of money .
