Good monrning,
For my first post on the forum, please accept my salutations from Corsica island, southern France. Here is my problem : This winter we had a cold spell and all the leaves of my 2,5 meter orinoco (one stem and a small pup, newly planted) froze. I removed all the frozen leaves last week. Today I noticed that the upper ten centimeters of the pseudo stem are grey-brown and obviously dead. My question is : 1) Do I cut 20 cm of the the upper stem until I see the new leave pushing out ? 2) I don't do anything and only wait ? The lower part of the stem (2,30 m) is still green. Of course I will post some pictures as soon as possible. Thanks for help, Phil

Can you insert a photo? It would be much easier.
You must cut until the banana heart is white, you will get to that part by cuting inch by inch of pseudostream.

Do you know what ? Following Edi's advice I cut the stem of my frozen Orinoco two days ago. The centre of the stem has already grown 2 centimeters. That mean 1 centimeter a day : Incredible ! Thanks Edi one more time ! Phil
