![]() You cannot get crop insurance in Florida for banana fruit. I certainly realize that I get whatever God is going to give me out of the farm. It certainly isn't keeping me awake at night. But when you expend time and energy with weeding, pruning, fertilization, bagging and so forth you hope to get something out of it.

![]() That's the way I see it... I plant a banana seed and I hope to get something out of it.
I know that large areas of my farm are at high risk of loss due to wind and that there might not be any bananas to harvest. But I'm sure if I don't plant those areas there will not be any bananas to harvest from them. “He who watches the wind will not sow and he who looks at the clouds will not reap.” - Solomon "It is true that the wind and rain might come and destroy the harvest. Today’s work might be ruined and you might have to do it over again tomorrow. But that’s okay. Today’s work might succeed as well as tomorrow’s."
