I have a new listing of rare variegated philodendrons and new Super Dwarf Papaya seedlings, along with what will probably be the last Indonesian Ivory sucker until next spring. Don't buy the variegated plant, best is to wait until it flowers at seller's shop/place.

Hi,
Don't sell your variegated plants. Wait until they flowers up as you need to know what colour of flowers and fruits as I feel the seller who sold the plants to you, may be sold you either Ae Ae banana plants or common musa ornata. You want to know what colour of flowers & fruits before selling the plants.

PS Both plants will be sent growing in the pots they are currently in so as to avoid any un-necessary stress or problems re-rooting out for you (unless you specify otherwise!) I might have to cut some leaves if it cant fit into the shipping boxes without becoming severely damaged anyway.

Thanks for the advice, but I know for a fact that it is not an AeAe, and have my doubts about it being a variegated Ornata, but it might be. If you want to read all the fuss about this "Variegated RoxB" or "Florida", check this thread;

Ok,
Plant the musa Florida in your gardens and let them grow to flowering & fruiting stage, you will know this is a newest variegated cultivar of banana plants. I think this means we are looking at the world's newest variegated cultivar of banana plants.
When you get fruit of musa Florida-cut the fruit lengthwise and look for hard dark brown seeds, you might get them to germinate.
It seems to had old name "Musa Linn"
Your musa Florida need protection from thieves & animals....plant the thorny plants around musa florida or put potted thorny plants, as thorns keep animals away from your plants. Buy new pots & compost for suckers (baby plants) of musa Florida.

Already done...............I have 2 of these "Mystery" bananas in the ground. No need for thorny plants, the property is entirely enclosed by 8" fence and with security! The only animals are the dogs and they dont bother my plants....:) paradisiaca LINN. is the designation for plantains and Musa sapientum LINN. is the designation for dessert bananas, so again, not much help in identifying this one. I will have to wait for it to flower and produce fruit to see if it is the exact same plant as Camillinoir has. If I am VERY LUCKY, it wont be the same. And even if it is, we still dont know exactly WHAT this "Florida" really IS!

In the map zone, it says I'm in zone 8, but it feels like zone 7. So I have to bring my container plants inside for winter. Does the White Variegated Musa Indonesian Ivory can handle growing in containers? The fact that I read it grows up to 14ft, and so a fairly large plant, does it have to be planted in ground? Really like the plant, but nervous about it if I can provide its care because of my limited temp(zone 8). I assume the pictures is in this site below:[Sale] Rare Variegated Philodendrons & Musa "Indonesian Ivory" - Bananas.org right?
