I'm helping Carol Stiff of Kitchen Culture Education Technologies and the Tissue Culture Group organize a workshop at Prusch Park in San Jose to be held August 7th, 9am-4pm. Cost for the workshop is $99 which includes supplies, material samples, etc. Attendees should plan to pack a lunch.
To obtain additional information, please visit Home Tissue Culture* Group and write to Carol for additional information. Registration can be made by check up until June 11th at which time credit card payments will also be accepted. We must get at least 16 people to register to cover the expenses to put on the workshop and attendance will be limited to no more than 20 participants. People that are interested in propagating a particular plan should be sure to express their interests to Carol so that she can obtain appropriate reference materials prior to the workshop. |

I'm with Ante. If it was 2 years ago when I was out there it would be great.

Dean, there was a group of rarefruit growers down mostly in the Houston area that tried to get a workshop going but there just wasn't enough interest. If you can find more folks interested, it might happen. Scot tried to do one for Las Vegas and it ran into the same trouble. I'm pretty sure this will happen.

Carol will be keeping the registrations but I'll try to get an update from her once in a while and post here, if I remember. PM me if I forget. There were originally 8 people, including myself, of the CRFG chapter based in San Jose who expressed a serious interest in the workshop before I officially scheduled it. I then announced it here and other groups and Carol will also spread word around. She has two other people interested so I'm hoping we get at least 16 fairly quickly.

FYI - Carol with the nonprofit Kitchen Culture Education Technologies is now taking registrations for the workshop schedule at Prusch Park on August 7th. Details can be found at Home Tissue Cutlure Workshops. If you've got any questions regarding the workshop, please contact Carol whose e-mail address is on the same page.
Please share this with other gardening/plant groups whose members you think might be interested in propagating plants in this manner. |

Excellent Harvey, thanks for the heads up. Take a pic or two of the event if you get a chance.

Thanks, Jarred, will do. As of Monday morning, we're up to 13! It's obvious this one is going to "fly" so Carol is checking out flights, etc.
