Default wintertime indoor banana

My indoor banana is really huge and it shows no signs of slowing down.
it is opening up a new leaf and i notice there is another one inside it that will shoot up.
PRetty soon it's going to hit the ceiling. it's almost there. the ceiling is 12 feet.

Do bananas have to be cut down at some point?

I am wondering if i should trim the louter ayers on the trunk from leaves that wer cut away, so the top leaves can hang down more?

First...check out youtube on how to overwinter a plant indoors....

Best practices can be had there..
It is an acceptable practice to cut your plant to a manageable height.
If possible post some photos of your plants

Whatever you are comfortable with...

I viewed a couple of you tube videos but it was mostly cutting them to bring in for the winter. Mine has always been an indoor plant. I haven’t done anything yet.
It’s not full and lush like some that I see but rather tall and lanky. My stalk is about 6 inches in diameter.
I’d like it to fill out more with leaves toward the bottom.
I have about 6 feet of stalk and then the lowest leaves.
Can I cut it back and have it regrow? Will it fill out more?
