Sorry not to have been clear, it is the rainy season, so lack of water is not an issue. 6" plus of rain in 24 hours is not unusual now. ( This is paradise?) When bananas are deficient in potassium there is a distinctive pattern of yellowing from the edges of the leaves towards the center rib. The Saba plants do not show any other signs of malnutrition. There is a thick layer of banana debris on the ground which is probably supplying the remaining necessary. The old, yellow patterned leaves greened up nicely after a sprinkling of K, and new leaves healthy. Only time will tell if adequate K will reduce plant stress in the dry season and result in softer bananas!
