I have a corm arrived a little over a month ago with two small open leaves and an one unfolding that has stopped pushing totally and is turning black but the base of the plant does not stop getting fat and breaking the tissue upwards, like you can see in the photos, what do you recommend, I should cut the trunk so that the plant can grow freely?

Great photos ..and nice plant.
To me it looks like your plant possibly has a choke(clog) in the p-stem. This is where an event happened and your new leaves cannot push up the stem. This is not unusual for me in the spring. If your comfortable cutting the stem to release the Kraken go ahead. Here are some photos to help you visualize what is going on in the center. If you do cut your plant, do post what you found. Recently another forum member had found a tiny frog living in his p-stem, and he had only found it after cutting the p-stem. I go with cincinnana the powerful of things that are green. if you don't cut it, it will die. if you cut it, it will live. if the choke has not killed or something else is happening. catch it in time it will come up fast after you cut it.

healthy looking plants. but recent posts suggest it is not sunburn your seeing but over watering. mine is doing the same thing. doesn't get much day time sun but is getting a lot of rain. I am not to far from putting it in the ground.

Thank you beam, I will try to be careful about watering but in this case i think it is due to the sun exposure, before i had them in the shade and now they are exposed to 70% of the sun, only burns in the white areas.

Mine do the same. Burning of the white is due to sun exposure and fertilizer. Nitrogen mostly. Nitrogen makes the whites whiter! It's the Clorox of NPK!!
It effects some way more than others. AEAE is the worst! Mine wouldn't grow at first until a variegated Musa expert (Hector) sugested that I put some shade up over it! Then it still burned in some spots until it reached 8 foot or so!!!! Florida is a little better, but still burns some. Namwa mailong and variegated basjoo will just barely burn in spots. The real Ta-Née and Variegated dwarf namwa are the 2 best by far! Fastest growers and Never burn! Always look amazing. For sure my favorite 2 of all the variegated types! Overwatering you will see browning around the edges of the leaves. Sometime they will even curl. To me the plant looks awesome! Excellent job!
