Is this a mother rhizome with a sword sucker and a water sucker?

Or is this a mother rhizome with a sword sucker that has a water sucker as it's offshoot?

When I first saw it, it appeared to me to be a sword sucker with an active water sucker which isn't common but does happen. After digging it up it's actually a sword sucker with a water sucker and at least one more offshoot. I took some pics but I want to finish cleaning it before cutting it up and then I should have some nice pics and maybe more offshoots.

If anyone is wondering why I'll be removing all of the offshoots from the sword sucker it has to do with how apical dominance works.

The sword sucker had 3 offshoots on this side and I haven't cleaned the other side yet.

Is anyone curious why a small sword sucker can only produce water suckers as offshoots.

Guess would be the corm isn't developed enough or soil conditions.

Yeah, having the necessary reserve capacity to produce a sword is a must.
