There is nothing wrong with that banana. Just cut it off 1" below the bend and it will be fine.

I dont want the plant to have to deal with any extra stress of pushing the next leaf through a curve so I always cut lower. Also just in cuse it turns brown and decides to rot where it was damaged. You did nothing wrong. Just let it sit Bananas will always survive unless the corm is damaged some how. And even still it will probably live anyway.

okay that helps and the top is drying out turning brown (which is normal) yet it looks like there's no way for a leaf to push out of it if I leave it as is will it eventually pop out or should I cut it at an angle to help it? because I haven't cut it another inch yet but if I do I was thinking of doing it at an angel so it can push out easier from the dry part. any thoughts would be helpful!
