I just stumbled upon this thread so I felt the need to jump on the dog posing with the super dwarf cavendish band wagon

Woah...another blast from the past thread.

Oh well...here's a pic of my super 'mini' dwarf cavendish. I've had it two months...check out my other pics to see its growth in that time.

PS...I'm a CAT person...but I don't have any pets...plants are my babies!

Cats are ok, we have 3 of them, but dogs rule!

LilRaverBoi-you pic looks more like High Color Mini to me. Much more red on the leaves than SDC normally has, at least in my experience.

Well, it's possible. It was purchased as a Super 'mini' Dwarf Cavendish from Green Earth 2 months ago. It's still pretty small and I've been told/read that the color will decrease as the plant gets larger. Guess we'll find out. They're both great plants so I won't be upset either way

My High Color Mini has generally retained it's color, as opposed to my SDC which does lose its color as it gets older. Maybe that will help you in ID'ing it as time goes on.

Okay, Brent....I totally think you're correct in your identification. I got a comment on that pic in my photo gallery by someone guessing it was a dwarf cavendish rather than a super dwarf cavendish. I wrote them a message, and linked them to the Green Earth website where I got it.

However, when I went to the GE website, I noticed that the URL for the page that shows the description has /high-color-mini/ at the end. The description doesn't really say anything about it, but I'm gonna go ahead and agree with you that that's probably what it is.

Like I said before...no complaints either way. I'd say I actually prefer the high-color variant over the regular SDC cause I'm lovin' the red splashes on the leaves.

Thanks for the input on the ID!
