Re: Siam Ruby pups..
All of my SR pups have been green at first, for a month or so, and then gradually turn red. I think they have to build up some energy before they change over to the red coloration.

Re: Siam Ruby pups..
I must be the only person not to have a single pup on his plant.

Re: Siam Ruby pups..
I had a pup on mine from the start. It died back - :(
No new pups have emerged. |

Re: Siam Ruby pups..
I bought a nice 50/50 version in a 1 gallon pot from Stokes maybe 6-8 weeks ago and it put out a pup a couple of weeks ago. It is solid gree for now. So far, the mother plant is putting out a new leaf about every two weeks (it's indoors under light most of the time) and most have a nice color pattern. A couple of weeks ago all of these holes started showing up in the new leaves and then I finally found the hungry caterpillar and squished him. I can't believe how disfigured this little guy/gal made my plant. I think I'll dust it with Bt in case there are more.

Re: Siam Ruby pups..
My SR has two pups. They sound exactly like Jarred's. I purchased my plant from Plant Delights back in Aug. It has grown well (potted) and I have been very happy with it! It will soon be time to bring it in for the winter though. I will probably bring it in around Thanksgiving to be safe.

Re: Siam Ruby pups..
Hey, Harvey...they make a squeaking noise as the new pups emerge through the soil! If you haven't heard yours, I'd recommend sitting out (camp out if you have to) by them in full sight of your neighbors with your ear as close to the soil as possible! Don't worry about what the neighbors think.

Re: Siam Ruby pups..
Just noticed two more pups poking through the soil on my SR a couple of days ago...that makes four now! Looks like I'll have plenty for next year. I'll probably send one to the botanical garden I used to work at in St. Louis next spring.
