Default Ragbrai

Sorry off topic, but if any one would like to take a nice bicycle ride check out RAGBRAI, The Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa. Today 20,000 people will be riding into town,( our pop. approx. 25,000) spending the night and heading south to finish the ride tomorrow. Usually they end here at the Mississippi River, this is the first year they have spent the night on the Mississippi River, it usually ends with dipping their front tires in the river and heading home(different route each year, has ended here several times). They start by dipping their rear tires in the Missouri River. This year it's 427 miles. Me, I just watch.

Awesome, I reported on RAGBRAI for weeks when I worked for a little Iowa newspaper a couple decades ago. Ben (of "Ben and Jerry ice cream") was on the ride with his entourage and they spent the night camped in tents at my sister's farm.
I think bananas would be hugely popular!
It's a classic, fabulous adventure every year.
I don't think there is anything else like it, anywhere. Like a rolling grateful dead audience, beer in every sag wagon. Which is, you know, the ideal liquid for electrolyte replenishment.
