Praying Mantis made home on my dwarf cavendish

This praying mantis has been in basically the same spot on my potted DC for over 3 days now. I've never seen a mantis stay in one spot for so long. Any idea what it could be doing?

We have tons of them each year! We have 'city' grandchildren that come down to the farm during the summer and last summer Papa made them a preying mantis house, printed out a facts and care sheet and they had a great time!
