Did you pick it up from a nursery?

That's interesting. The Dwarf Maoli is pretty rare.

Re: Picked up a new banana today
I have been told that there are no dwarf Maoli bananas, and that I probably have something else. The nursery that I bought it from has a sterling reputation and it was clearly labeled as a dwarf Maoli, along with several other Dwarf Maoli and Mona Lisa bananas. We will have to wait and see what it turns out to be. I am excited about it and I look forward to watching it grow.

Re: Picked up a new banana today
My bananas are coming back after a couple of 30 degree days that tagged them pretty good. I did cover the smaller ones, but the big guys were on their own. I just cut a decent size bunch off one of my dwarf Cavendish, then took the plant out. A couple of the bottom one were split open but other than that they look o.k. I have them hanging in my patio. We got an all day soaker yesterday after almost two months of very little rain. That will rev things up. We collect rain water but it doesn't last that long once the dry season hits. we use it to just try to keep things green.
