*****Following an update of the rest of the corms*****

Pictures taken on June 22, 2016....

Yesterday, June 22, 2016, I inspected the rest of the corms (Tigua, French Red and FHIA-1 "Real Deal" Goldfinger).....As a good sign, I didn't find any soft or rot spots on the corms!.....Thanks God!....

Tigua corm....very well develop roots!....starts to grow fast now!....

French Red Plantain corm....very well develop roots....also starts to grow fast now!....

FHIA-1 "Real Deal" Goldfinger corm....no signs of any roots yet!....Also, no soft or rotting spots/sides on the corm (a good sign)!.... I will keep an eye on this one!....

After the corms inspection, I put everything back together!....

*****For The Tigua and French Red corms only *****Just added a bit of water to take out the "air pockets" trap within the sand...As I mentioned before, no need for a frequent irrigation...there is enough moisture!....

*****For The FHIA-1 "Real Deal" Goldfinger corm only*****I changed/added completely new dry coarse sand....Just added a tip of water to the outer ring of the pot.....Definitely I will keep an eye on the FHIA-1 "Real Deal" Goldfinger corm!....

More updates coming soon!.....

As I said before, my corms are about a week behind yours. I was going to be out of town for a few days recently so I repotted some of mine from coarse sand into a different soil mix that would hold more moisture. It's been hot here in my part of Texas and I was concerned that they would dry out too much in the coarse sand. But since I wasn't sure if that was the right thing to do, I left the last 2 corms as they were in the coarse sand as an experiment. When I came home it was very apparent that the ones I had repotted had grown more. So I decided to wash the coarse sand off the last 2 corms and repot them. The first one I did was my Patupi and it had only *one* small root! Aha! I thought that I should have repotted all of them. But when I did the last one it was full of roots and they had hit the edge of the pot and started growing upward from there! My conclusion is that the problem with my Patupi wasn't that it was still in coarse sand. (My wife watered while I was gone.) I think the problem was the corm itself. My Patupi corm looks like your Goldfinger corm - kinda cut off at an angle, rather than being more completely round as the others. I will watch my Patupi, as you are watching your Goldfinger. Hopefully they will catch up with the others.

Great pictures Hector. My Real Deal FHIA1 Goldfinger is also slow to grow roots. I am sure it will take off when it is good and ready.
