Sandy has the best success with over-wintering so far. Somewhere back I think I had started a thread asking if anyone had one flower yet.

I already placed my opening bid via PM, right?

I thought you all should know the pup is alive and growing well. It appears that the lack of light is taking away from its color, so I figured I better take a shot now before all the red was gone.

My small TC Siam Ruby has 3 leaves and top 2 are green now from low sun. I'm keeping it fairly moist/ on dry side & it's in west window doing good.
Can't wait for summer!!

My SR is also going green, as are the pups. Hope the sun gets them nice and red come spring!

Same with mine, they're fading from red to dull green and the newest pup is bright green. These are under 400 watt halide so they must need strong sun to develop the red.

How are your (everyone) Siam Rubies doing. All the new growth was instantly back to the "right" color as soon as I put them outdoors. Kind of amazing to me since I had them under very bright artificial and ambient light all winter.

I think the temperature might be the stimulus for color intensity. I had one siam ruby by a sunny window at room temp all winter with avg temp around 66 degrees and another in my greenhouse which in the winter never went above 70. Both developed green leaves as they slowly put out new growth but starting early spring the greenhouse temp started going up faster and that plant showed red leaf color much earlier. Neither plant received fertilizer all winter so that was not the cause. Now both are outdoors and if the sun ever shines again (it has rained here for the past week every day) the new leaves should all become intense red again.

Mine survived the winter indoors in the living room. Last year I bought the pup from Tophersmith. I've had it outside for a week and a half now and its turning a bright red color. I also had to cut out 2 pups about a foot and a half tall and pot into another pot. Both Mommy and pups are doing great...Thanks Chris !!!!!!!!!

I actually haven't brought my SR outside yet, since it's been so damn rainy and (usually) chilly. However, I goofed and my 2 SR TC's are outside, but are of course still tiny and green. As soon as this $#*^!@ rain stops I'll bring it and my DC outside for the season.
