do you have to use the pollen from another bloom to get bananas, or do you use the pollen from the same flower?

If you're speaking about the bananas which we normally consider to be edible (i.e., seedless bananas), you don't need to worry about pollination at all. They will fruit fine as a solitary plant, assuming conditions are appropriate otherwise. If you have something else in mind, indicate what variety you're talking about.
