Which nanner do you find to have the greenest foliage
I'm a second year banana grower in zone 7. I started last year with tiny Musa Basjoo - 13 plants in containers. They've done very well and this second year, I've put most of them in the ground permanent.
Most or maybe all the pics i see, of most varieties, it's common to get some leaf burn. We have a mild summer and i already have some of the customary brown leaves, but plants are healthy overall. This year i added a tropical "Ice Cream" i think it was. I ordered it tiny as well and kept it indoors until frost was gone. It's 3 to 4 foot tall and has the prettiest green foliage with zero brown. It has had more shade but not much more. Which banana variety do you find to have the greenest foliage? |

Hmmm - should have used the search function. I see this has already been discussed here http://www.bananas.org/f2/greenest-g...nas-11869.html but I'll leave it up in case someone has something more to add :)

Some shorter varieties that I have been introduced to have a nice darker green than my basjoo. Baloy, Dwarf Puerto Rican plantain and Raja Puri seem to be darker but check out Maurelii... It has darkest and red/purple.
