![]() Yeah, Encanto Farms does have the real deal. I was thrown because I've never seen that pink on any of mine, but I've never seen a TC, and I'm guessing from the little ones that they are TCs. The big one looks like the real thing too. I've probably had 10-15 types bought as TCs but have never seen that amount of pink on any of them!

![]() It looks like it might be a Namwah type with a rather bad case of nitrogen deficiency.

![]() The red color on the petioles is probably due to nitrogen deficiency. You might want to give it some fish emulsion or something else high in N.

![]() My Raja Puri experienced the same symptoms a while back. Reddish petioles and lighter colored leaves. Gave it some fertilizer and it bounced back like nothing even happened. Blood meal should do fine, just don't put too much, and see how the plant responds. New leaves should be greener and the petioles should have less red.

![]() Thanks Ken! Is there any way to tell if it is dwarf namwah or the big namwah? Or will I just have to wait to find out?

![]() Hard to tell at first but will give signs soon as the dwarf Namwah gets a massive base on it and more stout. One of my favs actually. Dwarfs fruit around 9'?

![]() I planted a tall namwah corm a few years back and it shot out pups constantly and they all had the bright colored petioles like Vipers. They were all water pups since there was no mother plant for vigor. A matter of fact even my larger tall namwahs still kept the pink in some degree. Faded out but still present. Those plants were fed regularly.

![]() Maybe it is just me, but your post is confusing. The title is "My baby Ice Cream has two babies already", but are those babies pups from your original "Mother plant" from Encanto farms and you have separated them and potted them up? Or did you buy the babies somewhere else as TCs ?
I do have an Encanto Farms Ice Cream and it does not have much pink or red anywhere. The pups though have some pink but that pretty much disappears as they grow taller and bigger. |
