Musa 'Kandrian' now fruiting
Our Musa 'Kandrian' is now fruiting. This is a big plant, like 'Saba', and about 20ft. tall. In the 3rd photo I placed a US dollar bill at the base of the main stem for size comparision.
Is the correct name 'Kandrian' or 'Kandarian' ? I see it both ways. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: Musa 'Kandrian' now fruiting
How long did it take to fruit from pup to fruiting may I ask? Someone said that 8 months. Now I am beginning to doubt it if it takes 20 some odd feet to fruit.

Re: Musa 'Kandrian' now fruiting
It was planted in April 2002, this is the first stalk to flower. The original stalk was snapped during Hurricane Charley in Aug. 2004.

Re: Musa 'Kandrian' now fruiting
Never realized that they grew so large! Great job! I will someday have room for something like that, I just hope that it's sooner than later. Can you picture a mat of Kandrian, Saba and Ingens towering over your backyard? Yikes!!!!
