Default Musa Basjoo Seller/dealers

I am looking for a source from the internet, who sells basjoo plants, and are either IN canada, or can ship TO canada. Im slightly tempted to even try seeds, even though ive had horrible luck with that lol

That "sold out" on bamboo worlds site is from last year. Was the same last year. I think I ordered in April or May from them.

I've ordered from them before and had good experiences. Though I did go overboard last year with basjoo and bamboo.

I'm in Toronto. Who or what is shelmerdine?

Scott can you bring plants over the border legally?

I've been contemplating a car trip to Buffalo, but maybe I'll hold off on that until Spring and maybe pick up Banana plants of some (any!) sort that way and try my luck - but I was under the distinct impression that any rooted plants are verboten at the border crossing.

Shelmerdine is a garden centre in Winnipeg.

cedardave - are they open yet? They closed down for a few months, I heard. I'll have to check that out soon. I think I did see some small Dwarf Cavendish there a few months back. Not sure - what are the ones that have the dark splotches on the leaves?

I metioned in my other post that Bamboo World will get their basjoos in in mid-April - I e-mailed them to find out, because I am looking for them too! Now that some people are saying they might have divisions, would anyone in Canada be willing to ship a small one to Winnipeg?

Deruo: I would simply pack them along with the 4 gallons of wine and 12-15 1.75 bottles of the hard stuff.

Yup.. they had dozens of merelli... I got 10 of them... Sadly he is having trouble getting any bananas in so far. Maybe some zebrina soon and hopefull they will find some basjoo. I was told there supplier had a crop failure so the plants that were ordered were cancelled. Hopefully they will persist and get some. Sure would save on the shipping..stay tuned. If your not picky about the variety of banana you get try sage gardens on st annes road once they open. Last year they had ornico and zebrina and some others I forget.
