![]() I have a problem, my AeAe is loosing its variegation. Many years ago I read somewhere that if yor AeAe starts to loose its variegation that it is because of too much of something, and to keep it strong that you should apply sonmething else to it. But for the life of me I can not remember what they were. It is so urgent because the last 2 leaves have had less and less variegation almost to the point of only a few splotches on the last leaf. Thanks so much anyone that can help me before it is too late. Salute' rick |

![]() I think too much nitrogen makes Ae Ae lose its variegation (I could be wrong). A bit of shade and less fertilizer might do the trick. Good luck! I hope the variegation comes back!

I personally, have never given my Ae Ae anything to make them greener.I think it mainly depends on each plants genetic mutation. good luck! |

![]() I think it's too much nitrogen causes the green and potassium is used to make it strong.

![]() If the N is too high you can still see variegation, but it'll be hidden by all the green. The grayish green turns about the same color as the regular green, and the pure white almost entirely goes away. Just don't give it any ferts. until the variegation returns to normal.
A friend of mine has one that did this until no variegation was noticeable. It grew the last half of it's life solid green, fruited a flower stalk with no variegation, the bananas never developed, and it died. The 3 pups it produced all have perfect variegation! As Jon (pitangadiego) say's, never give up on a banana! Good luck.
