![]() My mom has been growing Orinoco exclusively for 20+ years since I was a kid.
She really likes that I got into this hobby, every time she comes over we take a walk in my backyard to check out all my bananas to see their growth/progress. She recently told me she's always wanted to grow Plantain, lucky for me last year I was able to find a grower in Puerto Rico to sell me a corm and ship it to me and it survived the winter storm. Check out this plantain pup with a huge chunk of corm I dug for her I also gave her a couple of nice Dwarf Cavendish pups I'm super stoked! We're going to have to take turns taking a look at each others bananas now ![]() Oh yeah and you better believe I'm going to try and convince her to grow more varieties once the rest of mine pup ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() Too cool. My Mom was a florist (great designer) and a gardener. I was never in to it. I wish she were alive to see what I'm having fun with these days. Treasure the times.

![]() I am trying to convince my mom to take a basjoo pup...I would even take care of it for her. She loves baked fish and uses a ton of tinfoil in that pursuit. My wife suggested she try banana leaves instead....heck yeah!! We might convince her yet!

![]() I gave her yet another new pup today - Super Dwarf Cavendish
I transplanted my SDC to a much bigger pot with her help and was amazed at how HUGE the corm was. Check out the big chunk of corm, it's a winner ![]() Bonus: I also transplanted my Truly Tiny and cut off one of it's 'Tiny' pups I'm going to try growing this one indoors as a bathroom houseplant ![]()
