Hydroponic Bananas?

Has anyone tried bananas hydroponically? Maybe some of the dwarf or miniature types.

I'm planning to put a Dwarf Niño pup into a drip system soon.
The thing with bananas is that they like a low Ph but suck up a lot of nutrients. This means the EC and Ph will need a lil more attention than with other plants.
I have seen pics of banana plants growing in kiddie pools on the net, both in aquaponic and hydroponic culture,so there are many ways to go about it.

I was not aware of the hydro/aquaponic cultivation of 'naners until I saw this thread. The following are some of my observations; I always encounter wild musa in the jungle by the edge of the streams and areas which flood during the monsoon. They grow very well and I figured I wanted a big 'naner in the lotus/lily pool which I want to build at my nursery. I had been training my small plants in pots flooded with water with no ill effects. The thing is, you just got to increase the size of the pot as they grow. Because of the heat here, they just 'suck' up the water!
I experimented with a couple of different species and cultivars but the Ensete do not fare well. They crash out after about a month. For musa, I planted some in the muckiest stuff I can find. Initially for the first month, they are water logged. When they start to root, the water just disappears and only after the third watering for the day does it build up. This shows what heavy drinkers they can be, so hydro/aquaponic should not be a problem except finding a large enough container for them as they grow or like me, planning to grow it eventually in the middle of a shallow 3ft deep pond.
