Default How much sun can Musa Zebrina take?

I have a place in my yard that I want to put my Musa Zebrinas that is in full sun. We get a few 100+ days here, and I dont want the leaves to fry. I kept the mother plant in partial shade last year so I am not sure if they can handle the full sun + heat. Its for a flower bed so I dont want poor fried zebrinas as the centerpiece lol. As a separate topic, I am getting enough of them now to experiment with stashing the corms in plastic bags next winter under the house, similar to what I do with my canna, ginger, and EE. I just dont have room for a bunch of four foot plants in containers in my house, and my greenhouse gets too cold. I have read they dont do well bareroot under the house but those attempts were made with leaving the pstem intact and drafts, and drying out may have contributed to failure. I suspect if the pstem is removed down to about a foot, they will make it in a bag used to prevent desiccation, and have heard one other person say this worked for them. I can't see why this would fail, I have overwintered Alocasia, EE, ginger, curcuma, and canna this way. Its true they have storage organs that are a little more developed, but without the pstem, I dont think the corms would run out of stores. They grow so fast and fruit is not necessary so cutting the pstem is not an issue for me.

If kept indoors those leaves will burn for sure. You can always ease it out by slowly introducing it to more and more exposure every day for a few weeks and then plant it out... but no guarantees. I always just accept some leaf burn in the spring as the price I pay to grow these crazy tropicals in this god-forsaken (at least these last two winters.. lol) tundra. They always look good by mid June and take right off.

Yeah, I have discovered SDC does not like full sun at all when brought outside after a winter lol.
