![]() For those of you living in the Sacramento area and other places in Cali for that matter, I wanted to notify those who may not be paying attention to the weather that it is expected to be 97F+ by Monday. If you have tender seedlings in the full sun, might want to make sure they have plenty of water and a shade cloth draped over them for the extreme heat. Other than that, glad summer is here!

![]() haha yes, but getting close to a 100, is a little too much of a good thing. No way my agristarts are going to handle the full sun. They have been fine in the 80s though.

![]() O.k. too much heat sucks, but we have had crazy winds in Santa Barbara for two days now. Yesterday, we had 40 mile/hr sustained winds with 60 to 70 mile gusts (that shreds anything). Today it was only 20 to 40 mile/hr winds. These are not Santa Ana winds. They are cool. My greenhouse was mostly empty and I had to take all the tender plants that were getting acclimated to being out of the greenhouse back in. Only 30 plus one gallons I had to move. Seriously, good luck with your heat. I lived in Davis for 10 years. Atleast, it's a dry heat.

![]() Predictions in my area are for 80s, we might get to the low 90s, finally a little respite from the cold and wind.

Frost shouldn't be this late in our city. And this weekend we're going to hit around 94 deg F. And the heat wave shouldn't be this early either. |

![]() Technically I live in a dessert here in So Cal and it's been acting that way lately with chilly nights and warm days. I'm looking forward to the hot nights of summertime!

It is just weird this year, and I hope there is no wayward arctic blast, otherwise they can really damage even the cold hardy citruses and can kill my bananas that are starting to shoot up. |
