I don't know if this is better here in the main forum or the Tiki Hut, but the moderators can move it if needed. I didn't realize pesticides were so heavily used in banana production anywhere.

That part about the use of pesticides is certainly true, thats partly the
reason that there are also 'Fair Trade' bananas on the market. At least,
here in holland. The other part of fair trade is a guaranteed income for
the farmers nomatter what the market price is.
Just like 'Fair trade' coffee/cacao and similar products.
