![]() Hello everybody, my name is Michael, I'm new here.
This is my first post, I would like to share my experience with germination of ensete ventricosum. 1. Bought 25 seeds from ebay. 2. Soak them for two days in warm water. 3. Put the seeds in the ground in small "greenhouse" on water heater (apx 30 celsius at all times). 4. 2013.02.24 - 7 seeds germinated after 8 days - fallowing pic is 2nd day above the ground 5. I separated them on 5th day 6. and placed them in "custom GH with day lights" ![]() 7. About 8 days old here -- 12cm 8. 14 days old here: 9. 18 days old here: 10. 23 days old here: 11. About one month old Hope you like it, will keep you upated. Thanks Mike |

![]() Wow very impressive setup! I've had no luck getting my EV seeds to germinate this year. Yours really took off well! Getting at least 5 out of your pack is great success. Hope you post some more updates this spring and summer I'm curious to see how big they get in a single season of growth. Btw what is the Sellers name on eBay??

![]() I must say I got 4 lots of banana seed from Mark davis I soaked them all in the solution he sent free with the seeds for 1 day then soaked in normal water for 1 day at around 30c in the prop then planted them all in to some polostyreen tubs with lids and after just 4 days....yes 4 days there are 3 musa Sikkinemsis germinated ontop of the fishtank with temp of 35 in day and cooler at night when lights turned off, and ive got 4 ensete glaucum germinated in the prop at constant 34c!! So these seeds are good and im well happy!!
![]() Im just waiting on the Musa velutina and Ensete ventricosum to move but as they have only been in a week just now im not to worried lmao. I will make a post about my luck too soon. ![]() Hope yours are still doing well? regards Steve ![]() |
