Ed's FHIA-3 Sweetheart update
Here's an update on my sweetheart, hopefully before autumn I will be able to taste the fruit for the first time. The cooler weather (65° to 80°) does not seem to affect it and would rate the cold tolerance of this plant at number one compared to the other bananas that I grow.
Cold Tolerance 1- FHIA-3 Sweetheart 2- Namwah 3- Raja Puri 4- Manzano 5- Gran Nain - Rose - Dwarf Cavendish - Veinte Cohol

Anything's possible Richard but I think it's more likely to fruit at 8' or above, at the nursery there were 3 to 4 with fruit starting at 8' to 10' and I've read 10'-12'.

I've had high winds (20-25mph) in the past week that caused damage to my Sweetheart and lost 2 leaves, not very wind tolerant unless it was hit with a freak gust of wind, my other banana plants have shredded leaves but none were broken.

So Coca Cola is your secret tonic? (I'm known to use an empty beer can for comparison poses; emphasis on empty. And my plants don't get a drop!)
Nice pup!

I've taken more photos of sweetheart pups. I removed the new red mulch down to the original brown surface for growth comparison. The mother plant has grown to a p-stem height of 7' 4".
