Keep it out of the sun....keep it in a shaded location for a week or so, it has to adjust to the bright light, if u don't u will burn that leave big time! Don't forget to bring it in at night, you will have frost and freezes yet!

It'll be fine. You should cut it on down to the corm.

Just cut it off, keeping as much P-stem as possiable, below the damaged area!

I would cut it way down, and get the corm a lot deeper in the pot. It looks like this one has been overly manicured and doesn't have the strength of older leaf sheaths to keep it from snapping in the wind.

I hope there is enough perlite in the soil. Maybe it's just me, but the soil looks kinda heavy. Carefully take it out & add perlite -esp toward bottom for drainage. It will start to grow again - the pstem is still green.

Or wait...is that a little brown in center? If it's brown or mushy inside, cut that part off.

Just be careful of roots. I'm sure it'll be just fine. Also, now that there's no leaves, you can keep it in the sun instead of shade.

Looks much better!! Miracle grow potting mixed w/ perlite is great stuff...it's what I use.
When it starts getting more growth, maybe fert with a 15-5-30. I use stuff called 'Banana Fuel' from Wellspring gardens. 1 tsp per gal about every week or 2 in summer.

As sad as it is to lose the extra height, I don't think it's that bad of a deal. It looked extremely slender and leggy before, so cutting it down to size is probably not a bad idea. I probably would have just cut it below where the bend was to preserve some height, but eh...it'll spring back in no time!

There are actually two sources for the exact same fertilizer:
Wellspring Gardens Banana Fuel: 1, 2, and 3 lb bags
and
Plants That Produce Banana Fuel: 5, 10, and 25 lb bags
It all depends how much you want to pay per pound.

I don't think I have ever put a B.plant out after wintering inside and not had something break!
They come back fast once it warms up!
