Question Cutting banana tree?

I have transplanted quite a few of banana trees and have just cut them after putting them in the ground a day after removing from the forest. Now a white trunk appears?

And this other one I transplanted a week or two ago and left the leaves on, and decided to chop it today and it now looks like this?

Lastly this one I chopped a week ago after it sitting for a week or two after transplanting with 1 leaf

Why the white stem and how come the other has no new growth?

you can't link from your gmail account. you have to upload to a filesharing site. imgur.com is the one that i go with.

wow im sorry. i could see the images so i thought it was fine. here are the images, hopefully you can see them, they havent changed much since then still just a white stalk?

and this one is fine now, has a new leaf coming out of the chopped stalk. I had it sit in the ground a few weeks before chopping with a few leafs to provide photosynthesis. There wasnt any new leaf growth and it just looked bad so i chopped it and now has new leaf emerging.

Now the white stalk trees... i removed from the rainforest, they had gotten broken when moving so I chopped them where they broke and stuck them in the ground. quickly new white stalks emerged. I know the best thing would be to do what i did with the other trees and leave a leaf or two on to help with new root growth then chop. but it was broken already so i chopped it immeaditely after planting. i am jsut puzzled at the new white stalks? will they turn green once roots have grown? plz help me understand

It is growing back. If you leave them alone for a month they will look as if they've never been chopped.

That is great thing about banana species, they will always regenerate.

They are like grass. You can cut the stem on any place you want, and they will continue to grow from that place were you chopped them.

ok ill give it some time. what about a tree that is very old and just had its bananas cut off. If you chopped it, would it still grow back even though its already had bananas flowered? or will it just die?
