can you tell me what should I do o protect my bananas tree from the frost in the winter? also should I whait for the spring to cut the tree?

zone 8b but my problem is my bananas received to much water recentley and I hear that this is the cause of most freezing bananas tree. also the cold wheather is comming (freezing) so should I cover my tree ,cut it down or whait to cutting the tree?\

I'm no expert at this, but I guess you could trim off all of the leaves and wrap it in frost cloth. And don't water it much during the winter, that can cause rot.

I've read that California Gold is zone 7, and another site is zone 8. Still Being in zone 8, California Gold might be fine outside provided it has good drainage(no clay) in ground with well protective cover from frost. As for me, I am in zone 8, North Texas. And I dug my California Gold, and placed it in a pot inside my sun room. Bananas are easy to dig out, unlike trees.
